Character animation is not just about movement, but about acting.
Whoever the character, the goal is the same — to create a thinking, believable individual whom the audience connects with.
While character animation is about expressing an actor’s inner thoughts and feelings, even inanimate objects or graphical elements can benefit from an injection of personality. Choreography becomes more interesting to an audience when there is motivation behind the movement.
While I enjoy working hands-on to bring animated characters to life, I also get tremendous satisfaction from mentoring, encouraging and inspiring others to create new personalities to share with their audience.
